Transfer Made Easy
It is easy for anyone to use the Western Union Money Transfer
service worldwide. To receive money from abroad just follow
the simple procedure laid below:
- The Sender goes to any of the 150000 locations and deposits
money along with the charges in the name of beneficiary by filling
a simple "To Send Money Form".
- The Sender informs the Receiver of the money transfer sent
and gives following details:
- Name of Sender & Amount sent.
- Money Transfer Control Number (MTCN - 10 digit control number).
- The Receiver goes to any of the Western Union location in the
world and fills "To Receive Money Form" with following details:
- Name and address of the Receiver.
- Name and address of the Sender.
- Country from which money is sent.
- Amount of money remitted.
- M T C N (10 digit control number).
- The Receiver also presents a valid photo identification e.g.
Passport, Voters ID, Driving License, Income Tax PAN Card
or any other Government issued ID.
- And on verifying all the details money is paid to the Receiver.
The entire process takes 10 minutes. There are no charges for
Receiver as all the charges are paid by the Sender
<Note :
- Any single remittance/ transaction should not exceed US$ 2500
or its equivalent.
- Not more than 12 remittances shall be received by a single recipient
through the Sender in a Calendar Year.
- All payments exceeding Rs. 50,000/- shall be paid only by Cheque
/ DD/ PO. If the recipient is a foreign tourist, payments will
be disbursed in Indian Rupee cash only.
- Only personal remittances such as remittances towards family
maintenance & remittance favouring foreign tourists visiting India
are permissible.
